Retirement of MCpl Richard Naugler, LINEMAN

12 Feb 2019: After 20+ years of service to the Canadian Armed Forces, MCpl R.S. Naugler will be retiring on 20 Feb 2019. The full retirement message can be viewed here.

A DWD function will be held in his honour at Dooley’s (1198 Onondaga St, Oromocto, NB) on 15 Feb 2019 at 1300 hrs. Congratulatory messages, anecdotes, stories and photos are welcome and may be sent to Sgt Goobie at craig.goobie@forces.gc.ca.


Retirement of MWO Richard Kliche, LINEMAN

11 Feb 2019: MWO Rich Kliche will be retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces on 03 Apr 2019 after 25+ years of service. Details on an informal DWD will follow at a later date, with the full retirement message available here. Donations for Karen Eichler

31 Jan 2019: Lineman Richard Eichler's wife Karen was diagnosed with cancer in December and a GoFundMe page has been set up by his sister to help. Karen and Richard live in Gander, Newfoundland with their 4 children, and the funds raised will help their family with family care, incidental costs, and travel to St. John's for treatment. Any support to help those who support our line family is appreciated.


Retirement of WO Kevin Snyder, LINEMAN

31 Jan 2019: After over 30 years in the service, WO Kevin Synder is retiring, with full details of his illustrious career available here. His retirement ceremony will be held in Ottawa, with further details to follow later. 24 Dec 2018: A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all linemen, their families, and friends of the trade! The 2018 CAFL Golden Spur newsletter is now available, with accounts from line units across Canada.


Liberation of Holland Battlefield Study Tour

21 Dec 2018: The Communication and Electronics Branch has released the warning order for the Liberation of Holland Battlefield Study Tour. Following the successful 2017 Vimy study tour, this represents a chance to learn about how the Branch played a key role in lifting the Nazi occupation of Holland.


Fundraiser for Paul Byrne

14 Dec 2018: Paul Byrne, lineman and infanteer, was sadly involved in a car accident while riding his motorcycle earlier this month. Those wishing to help Paul with his recovery are invited to donate to his GoFundMe campaign.
